my 250 W MH does not seem bright

I compared my 250 W MH 14000K to my brother-in-law's 150 watt and his was brighter to look at and put off more heat than mine by far. I can look directly at the bulb on mine and not be blinded. Anyone have any idea why?

Then my next question is wether or not I should put my 400 W MH with regular grow bulb over it instead. At least until I get a higher kelvin bulb

the corals look happy under my 250 W but it is too early to see growth.

what ballast are you running it on? Perhaps a mismatched one?

It is an internal ballast so it can not be the wrong one. I will get more info on the bulb, but it is only a couple months old and is 14000 K.

A lower K lamp will look much brighter & produce higher heat, what Kelvin lamp is that 150W mh?
