Dear All,
Welcome to my 30 gallon long. I am going to ask my buddy Krish to assist me with the pictures to begin this thread and ultimately to create my gallery. To give you a basic outline on the tank:
30 gallon long
20 gallon sump/refugium
Main Tank
three to four inches of sand (Aragalive and local crushed coral taken from a tidal pool on the Western end of the island of New Providence in the Bahamas)
Thalassia (Turtle grass sprigged in the sand bed)
30 pounds of live rock and rubble in main tank (combination FIGI and FLorida)
Inhabitants
Beaugregory (Native Damselfish inhabits most of our coastal regions normally found in rock pools, very territorial and hardy juveniles start out various shades of blue or violet on top with yellow underneath.
Blue Hermit crabs (Apparently two species they differ slightly in carapace and color)
Red Hermit crabs
Chitons
three different types of snail not exactly sure of each species, but will add potential id when I add pictures.
three types of brittle star (again unsure of id)
sally light foot crab
corals
Several different types of pourites I believe
two species of zoanthids
one species of encrusting gorgonian
In the sump/refugium
Two crabs (stowaways from Krish and my coastal collections) no id
1 brown prawn (loves detritus)
1 mantis shrimp ( I can't find him but I have seen the little brute) he is green like the ones in Krish's photos
1 (?) It looks like a maine lobster with large claws but it is very small great excavator of debris
four inches of crushed coral and sand
10 pounds of rubble covered in various tube worms and some corraline
Lighting main tank
4 compact flourescents two are 96 watt actinic two are 10,000K flourescents
Lighting sump
two wal-mart 6500k bulbs
Skimmer hangover skimmer from a company in Jacksonville Florida (nothing special it skims)
Flow
700 gallons per hour return (got to confirm but I think that is right):doubt:
650 SEIO in the rear of the tank
closed loop with a mag drive (again I think it is 750)
1650 RIO power head again in the rear of the tank.
Filtration none (other than already stated)
Natural saltwater water changes twice weekly stopped all supplements
