My 4 Gallon Pico

Started a pico using an Eheim Aquastyle yesterday. Planning for it to be mainly a rock anemone/sexy tank with a few zoos/softies. Here are some pics of it so far.

That is going to be a fun tank. That big rock in there has got some character. Nice pick on that rock.

Thanks. I figured there were a bunch of nice spots to place various corals and I like having one large rock than having to stack smaller ones that could fall over.

Wasn't sure what it was but multiple people have said it is an aiptasia so it has now been removed....RIP Senor Aiptasia

Doing what IPisces suggested to me in a pm.

Take it out. clean out that area where the anemone is and then soak it in fresh water for a few days, let it dry out for a week or two and then soak it for a few days and rinse it again in fresh water and put it back in the tank. (fresh water, meaning RO/DI)
It should be fine after that

you paid for "live" rock right? if so you could blow torch the sucker so you don't kill your new "live" rock by soaking in freshwater....however, where there is one there prob is more so I agree with IPisces method.

if you want to totally kill it and remove dead stuff you could do muriatic acid bath ( google it) and then you could start use the rock the same day again. vinegar works too.

its just the tiny piece, however I am guessing the big piece was in the same tank and will probably have some on it too. But since it is so far just the small one, you could boil it and kill everything off and let it dry for a while and then again, rinse in RODI water. It would be safe to put back in the tank. But watch the other rock closely to see if any others pop up.

So I'm not sure if it is obvious from the pic but the LEDs that the tank came with are all white. I have added some old blue LED moonlights but doubt they are very effective since they aren't high output. The options I have is to get a full spectrum light to replace the one I have which has actinic blues along with the white or I can get a stand alone actinic that can go along with my current whites.

The fixture can support up to 3 lights so adding a second one that is just the blues seems to make the most sense to me but would like to get opinions.

Well my brother has gotten out of the hobby and is giving me one of his CADlight LEDs. It is equivalent to 48W T5HO lighting from what he was saying. It is a dual banded LED system with light output of 142 PAR at 4" and 72 PAR at 7".

The height of my tank is 11". Anyone know what kind of coral I could have with this light?

Yeah the first round of pics had water on it and it finished cycling just before the BRA sale.

I have it stocked with a hammer coral, a electric green rock anemone, red candy stripped rock anemone, 2 sexy shrimp, anemone crab and a turbo snail.

I'll take some pics soon.
