Well,
It's been about another year and I will soon be taking this tank down. I will be upgrading to a 810 gallon starphire at the store. I don't get to see it much and I really don't want to work on it after doing fish stuff all day at the store. So the best thing is to have it at the store. The tank is falling apart and is held together with bar clamps at the moment

I hope to order the new tank in November and have it running next spring. It should be my best tank yet!

WOW drastic change from the first pic & the recent one, still a very beautiful though. I'd imagine at the store you have no choice but keep it cleaner. What is breaking, Is this glass?

The back panel has separated from the top So I have bar clamps running front to back holding the back panel in. It is an acrylic tank.

So your next tank is going to be glass, any reasons why for the switch, (other than the separation part)>?

I like glass much better for a variety of reasons. It is much easier to remove coralline algae from. It is better at heat loss and with 4500W or so of light that's a good thing :lol:

Starphire is now available in 19mm (about 3/4") thick. The tank will be 130"x48"x30".

48" deep. It's too hard for me to work on tanks that are more than 30" tall.

Wow Kevin that is going to be amazing. Does that mean you will be taking down the 2 cubes in the store to make room? Or just putting the new tank in the back half?
If you need any help with taking down your old tank or setting things up let me know.

It will be going in the back and will be viewable from 3 sides. The overflow and closed loops will be on the end.
