That is one happy looking maroon clown! Glad to see that he quickly took to his new home.

You may think I'm crazy to say this, but for me one of the most eyecatching features of your tank is your clam. Before getting into this hobby I just thought that clams were these ugly white-shelled things that clung to rocks. I never would have guessed the array of colors and patterns that exist on many clams.

Keep us updated!

Thanks, I think these clams are really pretty. I cant beleive how fast they grow too. I had him in my mixed reef tank and am dosing calcium and alk in that thank. He grew from 4.5" to 8" in a year. I am not dosing the tank he is in now but my salt mix has a good calcium level. He shouldnt grow quite as fast though. Hopefully.....Dont want him out growing this tank.

Well things have changed alot with this tank. Here are some of the current occupants.
The clown and its anemone have grown alot.

Here are some new pics

That first clam, Tridacna Crocea? Everything looks beautiful! You've seemed to have done quit well with your Leopard Wrasse. Beautiful fish!

The first clam is a squamosa.
I have a male/female pair of melanurus wrasse' in this tank. Picked them up from Red C not too long ago. They are GREAT fish!

Yes I still have the black one. I also have a purple w/green center one
They are very sticky and have a bad sting. You wont be able to have coral or clams near them. And some small fish are in danger of being eaten quickly! They are also non-photosynthetic, so they need to be fed regularly.

I've never seen one of those before Lorrie! Pretty cool looking! Not sure if it was mentioned already, but what do you feed it? Silversides? :)

They get fed the same as the fish. Table shrimp & scallops, mysis, vitamins and garlic extreme. Once in a great while they will get a piece of silverside but not very often.

I love that tube anemone! I was wanting one but at the time didn't have a setup for it but now have the space and can't find one lol.

ditto need to find me one of those tube anemones to buy. Do they move around the tank at all, or do they stay put in the sand where you put them?

As long as they are not placed in a high flow area they do fine. Mine have never moved. One I actually buried it in the sand a bit. The other I dug out a little sand and just set it in the sand just under part of a rock and it buried itself. It is in an area where the flow pattern takes food right thru the area where it catches it. They are fun to feed. I have heard of them abandoning their tube and moving, but I don't think that is a good thing. So low flow area where the flow pulls food thru them is good. Otherwise you will have to target feed them. AND think very hard about where you are going to place it, because once they are buried in the sand, its not easy to get them out.

Thank you for the information, i've been looking at all the various colors of them on youtube, now i just need to find one around here in a cool color (i saw a video of an awesome blue one).

Is that a Marine Betta I see? What fish are you now keeping? I'm not real good with naming Marine fish...yet. Please forgive my questions and mistaken identities :)

Not a problem with the questions. We all have to look up fish to figure out what they are. There are so many different species. I'd love to have so many of them too. Thats why I have so many tanks.
Anyway, Yes that is Marine Betta. He is one of my favorites. In this tank I also have a Flame Hawkfish, a Tomini Tang, a pair of Melanurus Wrasse's, a Talbot Damsel, a Gold Stripe Maroon Clown, a Diamond Goby and a Yellow Assessor Basslet.

In my 75 gal tank, I have a Yellow Tang, pair of Orange Ocellaris clowns, A Black Ocellaris Clown, an Azure Damsel, a Mandarine Dragonet and a Dwarf Golden Moray Eel.

In the 54 gal tank I have a Picasso Clown, Platinum Clown and a Black Bar Chromis. I am looking to get a pair of helfrichi firefish.

The 180 I have an Orange Shoulder Tang, Blue Hippo Tang, Mystery Wrasse, a Bursa Triggerfish and a pair of watchman gobies. I am still thinking about what other fish I would like to add to this tank.

The frag tank I have a pair of Blue head Chromis which I may give away. A pair of tiger gobies and a black & yellow stripe goby. I also have a tiger goby in my pico.

I think thats all I am keeping at the moment.
