The last chamber has 16gallons I believe (I will calculate LWH-231 when I get off of work)!! Sorry not exact!!
I think you will find that it is about 1/3 of that, taking into account the skimmer displacement

Ya your rite, when I get off of work ill measure and get water volume for that last chamber for you!!I think you will find that it is about 1/3 of that, taking into account the skimmer displacement
.
And yes you are rite that evaporation happens in the Return chamber and water does drop exactly 1-2"gallons every 2-3 days,No the water level will not change because I top off in the Retun/Skimmer chamber!! Till I fill just 1/2" under my sump "water mark"!! And after about an hour the water line raises another 1/2" to match the water mark that I marked on the tank glass!!! And this skimmer has little to no affect with little change of water level (I did a little research on this skimmer)!!I already know approx what it is. Approx.
Your chamber is approx 12'' X 16'' X 10'' = 7.79 gal Approx.
Skimmer displacement 9'' tube X 10'' tall = 3gal Approx
So lets say you have approx 5 gal of water @ 10'' high, 1'' of water height = 1/2gal of water.
How much water evaporates out of your system between your top offs? The return/skimmer section could drop 1''-3'' between your top offs.
Will that effect the performance of your skimmer????
Yes Peipee,KPTrowski,And all others who are following and helping me tweek this 90bow build!! I thank you all for your time and opinions!! Thanks a lot!!!Makes me wonder about my evaporation rate vs my skimmer dialing in.
If I let mine go a few days all of a sudden its starts pulling massive black gunk and then when i top it off its not as good.
Of course my sump got broke when I moved so Ill have to find the IDEAL zone and keep my water topped off to have primo skim.
Good luck with finding yours out. These guys seem to be alot of help.

Ok I just took a couple of pictures of the sump "water level" and it seems to be the same since this morning!! Thank god!! But I'm very surprised on how this is going for this setup because on all my other setups I went with the skimmer in the first chamber!! Ok let me explain "WHY" I'm doing this "the opposite way", so in my first baffle It will drain into a sock then to my Chato/calurpa then under and over to the center chamber where all my coral pieces and porous live rock sit then down and under to the last chamber where my skimmer will Skim, then back into the system!! I put the skimmer on the end in this build because I thought that if I put the skimmer in the first chamber it will skim tooo much "Good" nutrients that my plants, rock, and livestock need!! Hope that explains my setup and you understand "WHY" I experimented with this!!usualy its the other way around where the higher the water level in sump causes higher water in skimmer and oveflowing. in your case I would have to guess that your skimmer needs more air and running a lower water level all the time may be that answer. how high is the water level in the sump that your skimmer sits in?

this is the water level now at 3:55pm!!!
Changed my rock around because today I am adding new Coral pieces I got from Mike!!
Nope not made in 1950s!!! LOL made in America and got it in JBLM!! So no that ruler does not contain Lead!!! LOL man that would suck though!!! LOLlooks like an older ruler....like when they use to lead in paint (LOL)
