Help Support Reef Aquarium & Tank Building Forum:

This afternoon I was looking at the tank and I realized I had a audience.
Wish they would come out like this when company comes over. lol

Is that the reef octopus pump you switched too?
Tank looks great

Those are Red Dragon Speedy 3 pumps. The return pump is a 80 watt pump which is about 2100 gph and the other is the 150 watt and it puts out 4700+ gph.
They are great. Totally quiet and run very cool. All the heat is transferred to the controllers.

Ah, yeah, I remember looking at them. They were a bit too spendy for the budget this round, but maybe in the future...

Yeah. When I did my new tank, I had to make a few compromises on equipment.
I was looking at the Red Dragon pumps back then and knew it just wasn't going to be in the budget. But they were on my mind ever since.
I was able to hit a good job at the right time and it worked out for the 1st one, which was the 150 watt.
Then I figured by selling off the extra equipment I could pick up the cheaper of the two and it worked out.

What I really like is the factory tech support is on FB and it's almost instant communication.

Old thread i know but i have been gone for years and didn't realize you did a whole new tank ....It turned out amazing !

An interesting thread to read, maybe someone is looking for information on how to do a custom tank.
