I was just wantching my tank and I was able to locate the emerald crab that I bought yesterday. Hes really big. I bought him to help with my hair algae problem. I just took a video on my camera of him eating hair algae. Im so excited. Hopefully thats all he will eat. If someone can show me how, I wouldnt mind sharing the video.

And Witful says...... come one everybody. We all know the words. Crabs are evil!!! I have been slowly capturing and banishing to the garage tanks all my emerald crabs. They eat algae, I also saw the bast#%*s pulling polyops out of my acro corals at night and munching away. I had to bbq fork that little feller. I hope yours works out great, mine didnt. Keep an eye on the little buggers. JMHO. Steve

Mine eats green hair as well. He doesn't bother anything else in the tank and never has. I have had two and neither of them has ever done anything to deserve banishing.

At one time I had 6 Emerald crabs in my tank. They ate the algae and then slowly starved to death. I must admit that I have only a few acros though.
