Well after drilling one hole yesterday and then finding out I had a bad sevice panel. I had to get a whole new one.
So all day today working with a electrician, a BIG hole in my brand new sheet rocked room, and $1600 later.
I have this
Here's the old and the new!!
One morning pic, one night pic!
Can you say "FIRE HAZARD".

Well glad to see that it's all done :) Now you guys can sleep at night and leave the house and not have to worry about fire hazards and such and you are ready for the big tank :)

Yeah true that would drive me nuts lol but... your handy I am sure it will be patched up good before the wifey gets mad :)

Sheetrock is the easy part, the really hard part is the $1600 you paid to do it right but now you can sleep well because that looks much better!

If your sick of doing the drywall, I could probably make some time to do it, for a reasonable fee. Let me know.

Oh I'll do it.
I just don't want to.
Thanks for the offer.
I gotta get this inspection first then I can cover the new work.

true, but now I got a BIG hole in my newly rocked room.
UUGGG I HATE sheet rock!

I hear you sheet rock does suck. As far as the house burning down, I doubt it. Look at how may people probably have way too many things plugged into one outlet (me included) and you don't hear about too many house fires. Plus if it burns down I can build the next one with a cool fish room.

PS call me

OK, time to end promoting home fires just to line up a little reno business:lol::lol:

Seriously Adam, you should offer to swap work with Mike. He could do your sheet rock and some woodwork as needed, you could modernize his electrical. A match made in "Heathen"

Man times are tough, I trying to get work where ever I can. Maybe if these house fires actually happened, I could be rich, rich I tell you. As far as updating my electrical no way!!!! I will never get a fish room if we bring it up to code.:badgrin:

I'm gonna do the rock I did the whole room last summer so It's not a big deal!
I'm just upset I have to do this wall again I just got done with it months ago!
I'lll get it done.
I gotta do my stand and tank first.
PRIORITIES

I am in the same boat, I rocked the basement when we first moved into the house and now to get the job done right for my new tank I have to replace my panel. Well I need to replace it no matter what, when you run the microwave it dims the lights in the kitchen and if the coffee pot is running and the heater in my 300 gallon is on it trips the breakers.

I split those circuts just I am out of room now in my panel. I was told it was going to cost about 2300 just to change out the panel. I am currently looking for a new house. The realtor looks at me funny when I tell them the specs on the panel I need in the house.

Worst case I split this panel and run a sub panel in the fish room still costing 1300 plus the rock and labor (my time)

Congrats Adam! Makes me glad I have the 2-200A for the house and single 200A for the garage :)

(Pure luck... not any skill on my part) ;)

yea I got all kinds of room !
I just added two 20 A circuits for my new set up today!
Gonna install the outlet boxes tomorrow!
Prolly go with a 4 plug on each circuit! or dual 4 plugs on each!
Not sure yet!
