I noticed that my new Leather swelled up over night and hasent really changed is this normal or a warning sign :?:

no worries... they are highly contractile, like many other coral and anemone polyps. Even during growth spurts you may notice some contraction and a shiny mucus tunic. As long as the animal return to full extension in 48 hours or so, its all good.

If not, increase water flow and watch for other signs/symptoms.

Anthony :)

Well its been like this for 24 hours I hope it will been fine.

often times when acclemating to new sorrundings it can take up to a week for a coral to return to its normal state. baring any large water parameter changes

I have a few leathers and they like a little water flow in there direction or they can act like this :)

how much water flow is good this leather can be seen swaying ever so slitely is that enouph and I have two 250w 14k where should I place the leather in relation to the lights I was thinking mid tank

It sounds good I have mine in vho about 8-11" under the bulbs and they have done well so far :)

most aquarists do not have anywhere near enough water flow for long term success. "Moving slightly" sounds scary for long term.

20-40X turnover is a good range... much higher for some shallow water SPS tanks, sea fan displays, etc

Well I have a 70 gallaon tank with two Seio M820 which are rated for 820GPH plus my return is prity strong maybe Ill move the leather up a little bit because I have it close to the bottom and there is more flow up there.this pic is of when I set up my tank.
