Hey all, I thought I would start a thread to document my new 180 gallon, (outside dimensions), softie tank. The tank was custom made by Les Peterson down in Tri-Cities, and I think he did one heck of a job.
I will be doing some renovating downstairs to make this thing fit somewhere, so it will be a while before it gets set up. I just want to get this thread going so I can come back to it when needed. I'll attach some pics of the tank now to get things goin!!!!

Charlie, you addict. You don't have time for that right now...it's hockey season.

Nice tank. And I would suggest 2 intakes on the CL. Less suction and also provides redundancy.

Thanx Reed, if I do it on the weekends I still have time for Hockey Night in Canada on Sat. nites. You gotta love Don Cherry!!!!:D
Thanx for the input on the closed loop.

Great Looking Tank !

Hey Charlie Tank Sure looks Great:) Les has done quite a few now. I think 2-3 other Members have them. I look forward to watching the progress...Jeff

I love those dimensions.... I would really like a tank that size and would go great where my current tank is......Someday.......

Go Charlie go!!! I thought you told me a while back that when you posted pictures of your 180 that you were going to post all the pictures at once? That isn't it right? You will put water etc in it right?(LOL JK) I love the tank. They did a great job building it. Can't wait to see your progress on it. If it is half as good as your other tank(you know they one you are supposed to send me all set up (LOL)) I think it will be DA BOMB!!!! Good luck with it Charlie!

I just couldn't hold back the pics Krish, it was like money burning a hole in my pocket. I just hope things fall into place with the remodeling downstairs, so I can get this thing goin. I hate to see it collecting dust!!!:(

I'm sure they will all fall into place. Don't worry about the dust...That could wipe off. Better it be dust from patience than something worse from lack of patience. If you are really worried about it sitting around, I think I can find a place in my house for it...I mean that's the least I could do(LOL)

Is your tank the same design as IAP's tanks (overflow wise)? That's the design I would go with if ever I went acrylic. Also, do you have any other equipment yet to go with the tank? Glad to see you started this thread Charlie...I've been waiting on it ever since you told me you were setting it up.

Charlie, that is a very nice tank, looks to be well built also. So as to how many CL inlets, I ask what size pump you are planning on running? I have ampmaster 3000 on my 90 w/ to 1.5" intakes, it has killed 5 fish so far and it has intake screens. I have a friend who is running a Barricuda (I think) and his also has 2 inlets and has killed 2 fish. So on my frag tank I used a ampmaster 3600 and used 3 1.5 intakes.

On the closed loop, I am thinking of running an Ampmaster 2700, so I really think 2 outlets are gonna be the way to go. I am thinking of building some acrylic screen for the intakes. Like I said, there will be at least 1 anenome in here. My main return pump is gonna be an Ampmaster 3000, with the return run over the center brace with about 6 dropdown outlets with siphon holes drilled in them. This thing won't flood!!!!!
My skimmer is gonna be a Barr Aquatic sk1220.
I really think I'm gonna love the coast to coast overflow. I've been looking at those ever since Mojo showed me one!!!!

This thing won't flood!!!!!
There's the kiss of death ;)

Aren't you done with this thing yet? You should have had plenty of time on Sunday to plumb, water test, and mix salt in the tank (LOL)

Maybe I should have said, this thing shouldn't flood.
Reed I was watching the race on Sunday, plus the guy that's gonna come over and help with the remodel isn't available for another couple of weeks:( :(
Heck, I've got all the time I need!! I've seen what happens when you try to build a masterpiece in a week.:D :D

Charlie,
One other thing you need to know, the panal with all the holes in it goes on the top, that's towards the sky.
