you don't need the canister filter, depending what you want to put in you tank, I would add more power heads, I run 5 large ones in my 125.

Tank looks great.
What are you running in the canister filter? How often do you have to clean it?
+1 on more flow

i clean it once a every two weeks or so
water changes every week to keep high quality water

in my caninster filter is a
small pieces of live rock then a bag of ceramic rings and then a black filter semi thick for garbage and poop then a fine white filter pad for smaller things

and im looking in to the powerheads im going to get 2-3 more

I agree lose the canister. They belong in the fresh water realm IMHO.

If you are going to add corals then yes more power heads would be a good thing. Your pictures show none so I would leave it alone for now. If you are going to add corals then yes, more power heads or you could just add a couple MP-40's and call it a day. Less is sometimes better.

theres 2 powerheads in the tank there on the sides of it

But their only 750's. MP-40's would give you a ton more power with less eye sores, IE 5-7 powerheads. Or you could go the tunze route. I just like less distraction and less wiring in my tank is all.

I have a mp-40 and here is what it looks like...

If I had to do it al over againg I would get 2 mp-10's and set thenm against each other. None the less my tank is flurishing.

Hope it helps.

i keep rowa acd carbon and different types of floss pads in my canister. eaysyer than haveing to clean filter socks every other day.
