My upcomming thing

I just had to post this. A big thumbs up for Mr. Bell. He made a stand for me unfinished and I just got it stained and moved into my house. Great build and my hat is off to him with a BIG thanks.

A 220 will be going on this soooon and I hope to have water in it by the end of the month (It was to be July but that has passed). Fingers are still crossed, as this has been a year in the planning.

Yep it’s green. I used a “Fiber Reactive Procion type Dye”. In simple terms I use some dye used in Tie-Dying (http://www.dharmatrading.com/html/eng/3796-AA.shtml?lnav=dyes.html). I Had some Avocado green left over from some shirt coloring and just mixed it with some warm water and did some test boards until I got the color I wanted. Did a Benite seal on the stand first and then I just soaked a rag and went over the whole stand at one time with the green. Because the wood could only sock in so much at one time I felt safe it would work. A few spots I had to do it twice. But the final out come was what I wanted. A clear crisp semi-transparent green. But I almost lost out to the kids. They wanted RED. It’s great being the dad as I have the veto power in all voting.
