I have a Aqueon 29 Gallon Bowfront that is not Reef Ready. The stand is not designed to hold any sort of sump. I am looking for some input on how to get around this problem. So far I have thought of:

- Use a 55 Gallon stand t double over as a place to put the DT and pictures, flowers etc...

- Build a stand. I have built a stand before which isn't hard but its the lack of design that gets me. A square box wth a door doesn't go over well with the wifed

- The less likely, since the tank is on the main floor, run overflow box piping downstairs to a remote sump. This will need a large return pump but not have to change the stand.

Suggestions are more than welcome.

IMO,
The 55 stand is the way to go. You would be able to use a large sump, and still have plenty of room for other goodies down there. The mre water volume the better.
The basement idea would be a lot of work and IMO not as easy to maintain.
If you make it pleasing to the wife the better off you are..LOL
