As I stated before I contacted them concerning the inlet size prior to plumbing my system. My dart powered closed loop has been running with 1½" inlet and outlet for almost a year now without ANY problems. I do not see any where in that link where it says you can not run the inlet at 1½"... Contact them if you have any questions they are VERY helpful.

I have to second this vote:D
I have called & talked throughly with them about this & here is what you get with the 1 1/2" reduction, about 4 to 5 hundred gph less (I may be wrong on exactly how much less) more power consumed & slightly more heat to be expected, even possible noisier. These pumps do run so quite that you almost can hear them & add very very little heat with the 2" set-up.

Hi ronj,
We have both the Horizon 3500 & 4500 gph pumps in stock, and running at our shop. The "big guy" is running the closed-loop on our 400 gallon display tank, would love to show it off - moves some water!
