I need some advice for flow in my tank. Currently the spraybar and 3/4 seaswirl are running by 2 Iwaki Mak4. I plan to replace the Seio M620 with a 1/2 seaswirl that run by a Rio2100 to get better flow. Do you think it is a good idea? I plan to keep more SPS.

Thanks in advance.
KC

It looks like it would be good. The 1/2" seaswirl will make some nice flow, especially when combined with the 3/4" seaswirl (when their outputs cross). I don't know, however, that I would use a Rio pump. It seems like there is a poor track record with these.

Nikki, I knew that Rio is not the best one out there. However, this is the only one that is small enough so I can hide it behind the overflow box and can't see it on the other side of the tank.

I hope this improvement can keep my SPS happy. What about a Tunze stream pump? Which one will be better?

Tunze Kick butt. It is amazing to watch them cycle up and down in flow rate. They really move the water. I put a 6200 and singletroller (5000 plus gph) and a 1" sea swirl on a 150 gallon I take care of. It has just a awesome random flow pattern now. The swirl crosses the tunze flow and then lines up as well, and the tunze is cycleing up and down in flow at the same time. Really nice. Steve

The sea swirl will add some random flow to your tank for sure. If it will be enough I am not sure. On the rio the bad rep is from them melting down in the tank, as in the epoxy coating around he motor fails and it seeps greese and oils in, along with an amount of electricity.

Hey did you know you have trees in your tank??? lol

Mike, how do I know it will be enough? I know the tunze stream is cool but it is expensive. Will the 6060 works (don't have controller)?
