I was sent 2 perculas and 2 ocellaris (mated pairs) by accident by someone. Is it safe to put them in the same tank?

how old are the fish?
how big is the tank?
what is in the tank currently (i.e. other fish, rockwork)?

If you have a large tank (100+ gallons) with lots of rockwork you may be able to get away with it. If it's a smaller tank I wouldn't do it unless they are juveniels (which based on you saying they are mated I don't think they are).

I'd either setup a small tank to house one pair until you can find another home or run to the LFS and trade one pair in, rather than taking a chance on one pair beating the heck out of the pair you really want.

Good luck!

50 gallon - I believe the fish are juveniles... just recently mated. I have a 120 but it is still in the cycling process although when I tested everything last night, it was perfect (everything 0, pH 8.2). You think I should put 1 pair in there for the time being? It should be done with it's cycle... it has been running for over a month.

If it were me, I would put the pair I wanted to keep in the 50 and the other pair in the 120 until I could find a new home for them. Should be fine that way.

I wouldn't put both pairs in the 50 together. I think that is asking for trouble.

Maybe Ilham (Elmo18) or Aaron (uwscotch) will pop in and provide some advice. They both breed clown fish here in the NW and are very well versed in the care of clown fish. You could also PM either one of them and I'm sure they would get back to you fairly quickly with advice.

I know that Ilham would advise not putting two sets together, I've spoken to him about that for my 125.
