there is a white spot on my clown by it frount fin. it is cotton like. what is it and how do i help him

Hard to really tell from the picture as it is not clear. Has this fish had any injuries lately? Also a condition that is often mistaken for "fungus" is lymphocyctis (SP?). Here is a thread on another forum that I have bookmarked that has good pictures of some common ailments of fish. Lymphocyctis is shown on post #6

You might want to start thinking QT if it has been there for a few days,hopefully he just scratched himself though,,,nice looking fish!
