I would normaly feel the same but I have been using meds sparingling in reef for 10 + years .It kills the cyno cause it is both a Bacteria and Algae. I works quite well. you are not using it as a medication dose just enough to kill the cyno.I have been doing reef tanks for 10 years and never had any problems using med to correct that problem.Cyno can be a bad problem if you do not get it under control. I have a R/O unit with a inline uv to kill any cyno that could make it past the membrain. Just trying to help.
I know that man... I wasn't trying to come off as if you were wrong for what you recommended and I'm sorry if my last reply came off that way. We are all trying to help and like they say, "There are more than one way to skin a cat with this hobby" which is why I wouldn't knock anyones methods, and just offer my personal opinions. I personally would never use medication to get rid of cyno at first because I'd rather have the peace of mind knowing that I got rid of the problem (excess nutrients or whatever) and not got a quick fix like some medications only offer, but that is just me. I respect your methods on using it though or anyone elses methods (unless it is pure bullcrap like I see sometimes ) I appreciate your points and I think that is great you have been doing this for over 10 years now. I've only just past the 2 year mark where saltwater tanks are concerned
