I'm planning a 6 foot room divider tank and I can't decide how wide to make it. Is the standard 24" enough to place rock down the center and and still have enough room for coral on both sides?

Thanks, Rich

Not IMO. If you get creative with your aquascaping it could work. If your going to have a custom tank I would build it at least 30" wide so the corals can grow without the mag cleaner breaking all the tips off.

I did it with an 18" wide tank (a 140 gallon). It came out pretty well, but 24" would have been a lot better. The access to the sides for cleaning is pretty tight in some spots and I have limited real estate on top of the rocks for the light hungry corals.

I'm sure 24" would work great... and you'll think that 30" would have been better. And so on, and so on, and so on.

Thanks for the feedback. I've been planning 30" all along, but have been thinking about the 220gal on craigslist.
