Need to move giant yuma

I have had this ricordia yuma for almost 2 years, and it is getting way too big. It has started stinging corals and needs moved. I tried to peel it off the rock, and it was too stuck and started to tear, so I stopped and let it heal for a few days. Now that it's healed and looking good again, should I just try slicing the top away from the base with a razor blade? I need it moved but don't want to kill it, and don't mind if babies shoot up in it's place.

You need to reach under and break the rock around it, if you just cut it will die. small flat head will work. you just gotta be patient, cause if you dont do it right it will die. make sure you start breaking the rock far from where its base is.

It's at least 4"+ and dark purple with a neon green mouth and green underside.

That's a good method that I might try, but I have cut ricordias many many times with great success, and seriosly doubt that it would die. I've cut ricordia Floridas in as many as 4 pieces each, glue them to rock and let them heal. You would be suprized how fast they heal and grow after being cut. I don't want to have to remove the whole rock from the tank and mess up everything growing on or near it, that's why I was hoping to just cut the head off the base, and either reglue it elsewhere, or put it near low flow until it attatches. In the past, I pealed one off a rock to cut it and get more, which worked fine, and a tiny almost microscopic piece that was left on the rock grew into the one I'm now speaking of.

I've moved my big one by slicing under it and moving it to a new rock, then using tulle (bridal netting) and rubber bands to hold it down on the new location. Make sure the tulle isn't too tight, just lay it over and band around the edges to keep the yuma semi-flat. I did get a couple of babies on the original rock, and it's now on a flat rock that I can move if needed. Mine is almost 6" when fully open.

Here it is. It gets quite a bit bigger than that, and has been stinging the pink thick branch birdnest and the green moseleya. It almost killed a big red monti cap, so I moved the monti and put those palys there instead.
