I'm jealous..... Nice tank. Take lots of pictures. I love to see the building of a new tank. When do you think it will be setup?

jazznreef,
Bare bottom all the way. You know it. :D

Gordo,
Pix, pix, pix...my new motto. I had to take out a small portion of wall to make the new tank fit so that lead to a new project of painting the entire room. Thank goodness for vacation time or I would have to spend a month of Sundays getting this together.
ps how is your quest for a larger tank coming along?

Karen

Gordo,
I forgot it should be upstairs tomorrow and then leak tested on Sunday?, maybe. Then if that doesn't work out vacation is over and I will need to wait until possibly next weekend until the tank is filled and ready for rock and cycling. I am already curing rock in the garage but still a ways out for actual inhabitants. Patience is so hard sometimes. I love it though so doing it right is worth the wait.

Don't you think Mermaid will be stressed in 180?

Great tank! And there're no such thing as too many pictures. At least not with digital camera and DVD-Burner

What about extra support for the floor if it's going to be on the second floor? I'm guessing a 180 will weight around 2000 when it's all said and done. I don't know if it's needed or not.... I'm looking for a 180 right now and will need to consider this as well.

Thanks guys. I am getting pretty excited about it.
Gordon-I have checked into the extra support issue and it will sit above the fireplace downstairs and I have been told that there is enough support by a friend who is a home builder. I am ready to build in extra support if need be. What about waterbeds? Don't they weigh that or more...I know it is distributed differently but just a question.
More pictures to follow.

Hey Looks Great Fly,
Thanks for the coral delivery to Colleen last week. It looks like you have the tank drilled. Time to share your plumbing scheme.
Good luck! Scott:)

Thanks Matt. And Scott you are so welcome. I hope they are still doing well for you.

As for the plumbing scheme. I will have a closed loop to two Sea Swirls for top circulation. My new Ampmaster 3000 will be the main flow into/out of the tank via the two larger holes you see on the right side of the picture to the sump. The other holes near the top of the back are for directional flow via loc-line positioning. With a smaller pump that will supply the flow for the spray bar and water supply for the refugium side of the sump for slower flow. I will post more pictures when it actually gets the plumbing parts installed.
Karen
ps thanks for letting me share this fun moment with everyone.

Special Thanks

I wanted to also say a special thanks for the subjects in the photos, Paul and Steve. Their hard work and labor getting this baby upstairs, make that two flights of stairs, is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.:D
