I have a 24g Aquapod HQI 150w

tell me how would you setup this tank for SPS mainly.
I plan on going BareBottom with this tank, because my last SPS tank was a 30g with 250w light. The sand bed 3-4inch became a nutrient rich tank with the sand. I going BB to keep that down.
I plan on getting a CPR aquafuge HOB refugium and skimmer.
I have seen some people doing mods to this AP tank. any one have any secrets to making this aquarium better
I want lots of turbulance and water movement.
I have heard a lot about this tank good n bad.
So with my plan I am considering getting rare frags
Like the superman monti, sunset monti, and all other very colorful
SPS, I plan on letting my friend have all $$$ expensive frags till they are big enough to frag, one for me, and him. Since his SPS 125g tank
has been running for almost 5yrs.
I know that my tank will be full of colorful frags.
I have nothing that needs to be done right away. So help me plan the ultimate SPS nanos.
I plan on filling my tank with my friends mature stable water from water changes. Help me out if I am planning something wrong, but
I think I will just fill the tank with my friends waterchange water.
I just plan on getting a couple pieces of coraline covered rocks, then letting that tank cycle for a month or two get the CPR aquafuge refugium/w protien skimmer. How high should I fill the refugium with sand? I think about 4in, will do good, add some saltwater plants
too in the fuge let it do it's thang. I will be running the fuge light on opposite of the tank. I plan on keeping the MH light off for the cycle until I get any corals. ( to keep nutrients at 0
I plan on using a two-dosing product. I have never used those before. I think that the two dosing plan will keep everything good with regular water changes?(how often should I do a waterchange?) what else would help out the Aquapod

sounds cool man there are plenty of nice coloured sps that arent 150 for an inch peices i know theres a couple dudes here that have sum of wat ur looking for a might help u out with sum cheap frags
if u want lots of water movment u can eaither diy a sump and have lots of retunrs or get the nano streamers and if moneys not a problem get them with a timer and have like 4?
i would probley say water change at leats once a week or every 5 days
otheres may have differnt ideas and u can get a wider range of oppions
dont for get about the fourm thats just for nanos

ow a welcome to RF seeing how its ur first post im sure u will like it here as everyone is really helpfull and there are alot of wise and knowledge able people

I agree with the weekly water change as that is what I do on my 120g sps tank. Be sure to let the tank stablize before adding any sps frags. Keeping ca., alk., mag., stable are the more important things with sps corals. Also about the lighting, are you going to use any actinic lighting?? Might think about that too. Flow is as important if not more so for sps corals too. Sounds like you're heading in the right direction..

bag the cpr and get a real skimmer on there:)
i was setting up my aquapod to grow acro before i moved, i have scince sold it but here is what i did to mine:D
i also ran a maxijet mod in there so i had a 2000 gph pump for flow, hidden behind the rocks.
you could easily fit a small overflow box on the back of the pod, without the front part with teeth(the box would hang on thne back of the tank, the jtube would go right in the back of the pod) which is a waay better idea than me using 2 pumps to deliver water to the sump and then back to the pod:eek: but i was just using what i had lying around to temporarily hook up my sump. i had to try out my new octopus 150:)
