Eric,Neil,Thank You. The system is still very new and it is not yet packed with SPS Corals. You can see I have been battling with some initial outbrakes of algae. However it has gotten better. I do have to update the tank photos. I supplement the Calcium and Alkalinity with a CR-6 calcium reactor. In addition a Nilsen reactor will supply kalk with the top off water. You can see pictures of the reactor on my website.
Regards,

Here is another picture of the sump and a Nilsen reactor
placed in a bucket below the sump;where I won't knock it over.

Here is a picture of the fan I used to vent air out of the basement. It is made for damp areas and it has a plastic housing and blades .It is very quite considering how much air it pulls out.It is comingled with an A/C and a dryer vent.

I did go bare bottom this time around. It was not an easy dicision. The last DSB worked fine for 6 years until I had some problems. The problems possibly could have been caused by the general age of the set up,12 years. I can not say for sure. However in a smaller tank where I might of upgraded in a 5 year period I would have went with a DSB.However, I have no plans to get a larger tank. And removing a DSB from this tank was out of the question.I have some recent shots. The corals I have now fall into two categories.Coral's that I am rescuing from non ideal conditions in a holding sump and new ones.In time all will shape up.Fish will be added next month.

Deep Purple Stylophora

Almost a full tank shot. There is sun light coming into this room which makes it difficult to avoid the glare. I will have to wait for an overcast day.

Center shot. Pink stylophora just below the orange cap was completely bleached white and is slowly but surely coming back in the new set up.

Tank is looking sweet! That clam is HUGE!

Great progress. That's already an incredible tank...and somehow I don't think your done yet.

Nice work.

It is nice to see the progress between May and June. You are getting some good coralline growth, aren't you? That always helps make the tank look good.

Thanks Charlie. After looking at the pictures, I see that I have to clean the back glass panel.
