Just curious, do you guys do any special procedures with the wild/mariculture pieces you guys get? Things like dips or QT to avoid pests.

First we visually inspect. If there are noticable flatworms (a problem with aussie acropora and some suppliers in general) we either give the piece away with a warning without it touching our tank or we throw it away. We then dip every acropora (except echinata which is sensitive to coral rx) in interceptor for red bugs. We then follow this with a coral rx dip for acropora eating nudibranchs and flatworms. We do this whether they are wild, maricultured, or captive bred. We also randomly dip our corals in an attempt to make sure nothing got past the initial procedure. Even with these precautions in place, it's possible for pests to get by us because the eggs, which can be very hard to see, are not harmed by the dips. The eggs hatch and voila...problem:( The only sure fire way for the end user to make sure your purchases are 100% pest free is to qt all new purchases.
