Adam, you're going to LOVE IT!!! What "kit" lens is it coming with? Time to save up for the 100mm Macro, and in the meantime, you also want the 50mm 1.8 "nifty fifty." It's a great, inexpensive lens.

Are you going to use saltwater with that bandsaw?
I have been reading that people are having problems when they do that but I wonder if they aren't cleaning them out good enough when they are done, at any rate using a bandsaw is a great way to cut corals. I used a dry cut one this past week to cut up some acans and monti's and it worked great.

how many pixels is it?

i love my canon rebel digital SLR 8.x pixel

along with the 100mm lense that was recommend, a tripod is also nice to have..
my bday is coming in april, a 100mm macro lense might be a good ask.

It is 12.2 Mega pixel.
I will be slowly slelling some frags here and there and saving up for a 100mm Macro Already got the site book marked it's 550$$
And A tripod and remote will be before that..

As for the saw.. I will not be running saltwater in it..
If I do there will be a strict flush with fresh water rule...
It comes with 2x 1/8" diamond blades.. SWEEEEET

I have a few that I've grown to more than 6 inches in one year from one inch frags

But one is REALLY upsetting me.. my ORA red planet that is only one inch tall has encrusted literally 4+ inches near perfectly round on the rock but it wont grow upward

Yup... the exact same one. Did you order it already? If not for not much more you can get the T1i. It does HD videos. It replaced the XSI. I bought my XSI a few months before the T1i came out. I was a little ticked when I saw the T1i for pretty much the same price and it is capable of HD videos.

You would be amazed at how much longer a DSLR camera battery would last before having to recharge. I can take 500-600 pics before having to change the battery.
