New Clams - ID suspect....

Picked up these two clams yesterday... sold as a squamosa and derasa - though in looking at them opened up - looks like a teardrop maxima and a crocea... thoughts? The "squammy" is between 7 and 8 inches - the "derasa" around 4".

Yes, they are definitely 1. Teardrop gold/brown maxima and 2. Crocea.

Where did you get them? I just picked up a Crocea 'I think' from Saltwater City... about 4in.

I'm betting that Jesse got those 2 beauties in Kirkland, about 2 blocks NE of downtown....:badgrin:

I know becuase I really wanted to out-bid/steal them when I was there Fri. afternoon.
They looked REALLY nice--esp. that "Squammy-maxima"! :lol: )

I'm betting you're right. I did get them there.

I picked 'em up saturday - the tank was dark - so I didn't see them well until I got them into my tank.. very nice surprise....
