hey all

After many months of waiting and getting my tank set up the way I want it I have now added a new Undulated trigger and he is a big fish but the only one I have in there. Its approx 7in long and looks very healthy.

I am wondering if there is anything else that I can put in the tank. I know they can be somewhat hostile but I thought I would ask anyway.

Here are some pics

Please tell me what you all think of my new show piece (its not the best show fish but its the best I have ever had lol)

Undulated triggers are great looking fish, but imo are the pitbull version of a fish. I saw one at an LFS and every time I got near his tank he would ram the glass with his head. Watch your fingers!

darklcd,

Not to rain on your parade, but it sounds you didnt research this fish before you bought it.

If you would have researched it, you would have found it is one of the meaniest triggers you can buy..it is not reef safe, as it WILL rearrange rock work, stir up the sand and eat any and all inverts..

IMHO, I would not put ANY community or calm fishes in the same tank...this is now a predatory type tank.

Ill bet there is lots of fish that could be put it to the tank with this guy. Most of them would be a snack but maybe that’s the type of tank darklcd wanted. Rays, sharks, eels, could probably all get along and not be a problem. You will not catch me putting my hand in that tank with out a shark glove and sleeve on.

I did some research yes and I knew that it was not the best fish but it was either I take it or it would spend the next god knows how long in a 25 gal tank at my lfs and this in a 25 gal tank is just not right. Around here fish like this spend months in tanks that are too small and I could not let that happen.

I am not sure what else I can throw in there thats why I am on here. I have read some where its not a good idea and some where it works out fine but I think the size of this fish is going to hinder things lol.

but if that is all I can put in there I am ok with that but with the way this fish presents its self I think I might be ok with some other stuff but only time will tell.

Is there anyone on here that has one or has had one in the past

shoot man you could get some nice groupers in that tank. Large angels i prefer blue faces. Someone else suggest eels. you have an endless array of possibilities. miniatis groupers are nice looking and could hold its own large enough.

the tank is still my same 55 gal so anything of the angel type I think is out. I don't think I will get much more in there. This fish is probs going to have to be a solo with a lion or maybe an eel.....my wife is not going to be happy lol
