Are there any good store to purchase dry goods and live stock in NJ?

I have been to several and IMO they STINK! They never have what I want or need. I find that I do most of my ordering online. Plus online sometimes there is no shipping cost and there is no tax!

live stock is hit and miss around here (south jersey). you just have to make the rounds and study the livestock before you purchase. if i see anything i like i usually check it out for a couple of hours and ask them to hold it and come back a day or two later to check it out again before i purchase. around here the hidden reef is about the best for dry goods. they have salifert kits for the same price as most internet stores. the rest of there dry goods are priced pretty good too. usually only 5-10% more than online. where have you been going?

I have been to a warehouse type place in Woodbridge call Animal and Things. They have a large selection of merchandise but of course everything I was looking for they did not have.

I have been to a place in Clifton NJ they have an ad in the freshwater and marine water aquarium magazine. I do not remember the name at the moment all I do remember there was some little redneck runt yelling about homosexuals and I thought why would I buy from a store like that. Funny about that guy though he struck me as very metrosexual. Maybe he is hiding something! I will not support a store who is not tolerant of others!!!!!

I have also been to The Pet Shanty which is where I bought my tank but again they never have anything that I want in stock!

My concern about all this is that these stores did not have a good or healthy supply of fish and I am wondering if it is better to buy live stock online. But I have issues with that as well.

was the place in clifton, absolutly fish? was not real impressed there either. it's also a 2 1/2 hour drive for me to clifton. sounds like your more in north jersey. I have always had good luck with online vendors. the only thing is the freight on livestock is killer. You almost have to buy alot of stuff at one time to make it worth it. good luck with your journeys.

Yes, it was absolutly fish! Will not spend my money there!

And good luck in your journeys as well!
