I just picked up a copy from Mario at Ocean Reef, and I like the new mag alot. It is a nice change from the cookie cutter format of most of the rest of the fish magazines. I also really appreciate that it is written in an adult format and not castrated for the "family friendly." Thanks for a refreshing change of views Anthony.

Interesting Brian... I never really thought to say it in those words... but spot on. It really is intended for an "adult" reader in the sense that it its pitched to reef-interested folks enjoying or contemplating breeding, aquaculture, science/medicine, travel, the personal backgrounds of esteemed industry folks, a bit of philosophy on ethics, ecomonics and philanthropy of/in reef source countries, etc... and as such, requires some "age" (in the hobby or literal years on the planet)

For all my mentoring (and sincere enjoyment) of adddressing the mainstream masses I have done on wetwebmedia and other message boards, this magazine allows me to pitch information to a more discriminating crowd of readers/students.

Very glad you likes it my friend (and thanks to Mario for the dealer support!)

Just found this thread and placed my order gotta love paypal. Looking forward to enjoying your new magazine. I do have a question...will my subscription start with volume 1-1 or the next issue? If at all possible I would love to have it start with the first issue.

I would also like to thank you for all your wonderful advice I cruise the forums regularly and learn something new each time. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experiences.
Cindy

Cindy,

I know that Anthony is busy editing and finalizing his issue number two so I'll you a hand here. Your subscription will be for all four issues of Volume 1. Therefore, you will get the first issue too.

Thanks so much Curt :) You are always on the ball! Mille grazie

Cheers, Cindy :) Thanks kindly for your subscription. It does indeed go volume by volume, so yours will begin with the first issue. I'll have this posted first thing Monday for you!

kindly, Anthony

Hello my friend,
I am so much enjoying your magazine! My son Kris (Pkiff) was reading the article on macro salad in the van on the way back from the airport with a load of fish/corals and I must say it was a good to have cruise control :D

I was also surprised to see pictures of my old friend Eddie in there. Makes me want to hop a plane :)

A fine publication!

Hope our paths cross soon!

With utmost respect,
Kevin

cheers, Kevin!

very humbling kudos from you... thanks so much! It is very meaningful to read critiques from such experienced aquarists/friends.

I look forward to seeing you soon too.

Kindly, Anth-

PS- Eddie is developing exports in Indonesia now! He's an awseome fellow indeed. A trooper too for having to deal with some difficult/shady characters all over the world.

3rd quarter volume 1 is back from the printer... hours old and the ink still smells :D They will be mailed tomorrow and shown at IMAC this weekend too.

Subscribers get their issues mailed first, of course (albeit by lumbering USPS media mail rates that just increased by 25%!)... dealers will get theirs as soon as they confirm or send their POs (most mailing next week for dealers). Let the trickle down begin

I hope y'all enjoy this one... it's my favorite of the three issues so far FWIW (content-wise). I'll post a TOC and samples next week when I get back from IMAC.

kind regards to all... and super thanks for the support of friends/subscribers to date! I hope you find the publications worthy of your continued support. Grassroots (self-pub) works like ours dearly need it.

Wow....Issue 1 blew away any other magazine by a long shot. Issue 2 was even better than issue 1. If issue 3 is better than issue 2, I'll eagerly await the arrival of my postal carrier.

Just back from IMAC (Chi-town) and can confirm that - yes - all subscribers copies have been mailed :) I'm hoping (oh, Lord... praying) that y'all see it by the end of next week. There will be exceptions I'm sure... but I'm working with the the USPS folks as much as I can from my side of it (driving the mags to a larger regional substation). Beyond that... we can only pray :)

Some IMAC folks got their subscriptions personally this weekend (Illinois locals). Maybe some will chime in with a tease :D

After reading this thread, I ordered my first years subscription, I must say I was very pleased with the pictures first of all. The information was very helpful in the 1st issue with the Photography side of our hobby. I have since been more aware of what to do when the first picture does not look as good as I wanted. I plan to read Issue #2 this week, So I will let you know what I think
Thank You
Dav
