New Reef Tank

Hello all,

I am starting up my first reef tank and had a question about where to put the sump. How far below the display tank does it have to be? Right now I have it sitting so the top of the sump is at the bottom of the Display tank.

Alot of people put the sump directly underneath the tank. They build the stand to accomodate that. Where ever you have room always works too
MIne is directly underneath, gravity seems to work best for flow. How big is your tank?

My display tank is 100 Gal and the Sump is 37. I don't have enough room under my stand to put it. The stand that it is on now came with the tank. I was wondering if I would needed it lower for better gravity flow.

Is the display a drilled tank or are you gonna use an overflow box?

I am going to drill it, My overflows are being made right now.
