I just replaced ALL of my live rock today with some Pukani Rock ... A lot of work and some scratches and hurt fingers but I think I got the job accomplished. Here are a few pictures to share:

wow....that's some spectacular rock...that'll look amazing once it is all coralline covered...Where did you get the rock?

Scratches and scrapes...hmm...(I'll first qualify this by admitting I'm a bit of a hypocondriac  )...wash them out real good, use some hydrogen peroxide too...I got a REAL nasty infection from a live rock cut a few years back, had to go on antibiotics... ...Just don't want to see ya get sick... :D

Very very nice looking tank. going to look even better after coraline starts :)

You do got to love the shape and design of that rock. Chuck it looks like its ready to start growing again.

Ahhh...my favorite rock :). Chuck - looks fabulous! Can't wait to see everything growing!!

Here's what a dope I am...I thought you meant scratches on the tank....thanks MikeS for clarifying that for me...lol.

Thanks everybody. Yep the shape is very cool. And you do get more rock for the weight. I almost feel I put too much back into the tank, but after the last set I am thinking maybe a bit more filtration is better. I didn't want the full wall look so have a few "holes" and crevices for the fish to swim through as well as a shelf. The shapes are definately different which made it very difficult to get some pieces to sit flat against the bottom .. haha

Hopefully the 4 week or more cure in a trash can helped it so my cycle is well reduced.

Looks great Chuck! I like the rock and it looks open enough for good flow. I think you've got that full up award winning tank back on track. Keep us posted on the increased growth and intense colors that are coming

Hi Chuck,
Looks good! Pulkani rock is my favorite also. It is what I'm going with in the store display tank :). I think you're going to really like it. It seems very easy to get coralline to grow on it.

Regards,
Kevin

Chuck, you should be an interior aqua-designer. Every time I see a tank pick your rock shapes are awesome and your lay out is great too. Very nice!

NIce work I love the pukani rock too. Oh and by the way nice shots of the corals. What's that fish with the colorful face in there?

Thanks again everyone. I hope it works out. This stuff has been in a dark trash can for over a month and boy is it white. It needs a bit of corraline color for sure :)

Angle, that fish is a Solar Wrasse.

Hey I still would say your white rock is better than my green. LOL

Hey Chuck - I have some really awesome True Green Orb "corals" I can donate to your tank....LOL :D. Let me see if I can pull a couple of the huge ones off the rock. Expect a care package of things that resemble marbles. ;)

Looking good Chuck! It's been a long road and looks like the tank is ready to start reclaiming its former glory, now get to growing those fuzzy sticks!

Cheers,

-Erik

Thanks that Solar Wrasse is a very beautiful fish. Great job on the tank, I look forward to more updates.
