My wife said " You should stop by the Fish Store on your way Home" OMG,. I asked her to repeat herself. LOL
I stopped ay Dennys in Kirkland. Was looking for a Tailspot Blenny. None there. Almost got a Flame Angle. I decided I better go to Barrier.
I was talking with Chris about the Tail Spot, I told him I had a Midas Blenny and asked if that would be a problem with the Tail Spot Blenny and he said it was iffy.
I brought up the Flame Angle choice and he said that also was a 50 50 shot in a reef. ( I have read that many times) The price on the Flame was a little more than I had seen other places.
Chris suggested the Rusty Angle Approx the same specs as the Flame. BUT the Rusty was discounted, a bunch. Why you all ask? He has only goy ONE eye. How could I go wrong. I figured he would only peck at half the corals. LOL
Chris said it arrived from the supplier that way. Rusty had been in the store for about 2 mo. and was healthy.
I said bag him up, I'll take him home
So for $20, I feel I got a good deal. He has been in my tank for two days and appears to feel right at home. Hasnt hiped at corals YET
I also got a couple feather dusters

So any body ever have any luck or bad luck with this Rusty Angle??

No luck to report at all really. Just wanted to say congrats on the new addition and the great price as well. I'm glad you got the go ahead from the boss :D.

Thanks Eric
From what I could find on it, Most of the small angles are a hit and miss. I will try to keep him well fed.

Our flame has been great but we got it from another reefer who had it for a while with no issues. Gotta love the way the angles move around the tank though. Always darting in and out of everything. Great fish when you get a good one.

Hey Peppie, if I had a rusty a-n-g-l-e I'd clean it up or get a new one. A tool junkie like you shouldn't have any rusted tools lol... If were talking about Dwarf A-n-g-e-l-s then great pickup my friend and you will have to have a grandkid come up with a great Pirate name for him.

Cheers, Todd

P.S. want me to edit your titile for you ???

Todd yes please do.
Some times my spell check doesnt underline the words I am trying to spell. (a very weak point on my part)

Good eye ( no pun intended ) Herefishyfishy " Titile"

I call him Rusty, The wife calls him The New One. I will ask the grand kids what they think

Krish I think it is the word ANGEL ANGLE ??

It is no big deal. So I cant spell Or my fingers are faster than my brain. We all make mistakes. Just laugh with me , not at me.

tike666 , I hope your name is Willie. because I am really sorry if you have only one eye.

I can't laugh at and with you Peppie? That sucks!!

And tike's name is really Willie! Great guy, but just loves to show off his butt pictures on here and Facebook. No joke!! :p

That is one eye I can do without seeing LMAO
Krish you have any insight on the Rusty Angel ?

Check post # 9 here http://www.reeffrontiers.com/forums/f6/rf-scrapbook-60424/

As for the rusty angel, never heard of them before. I know from past experiences with certain angel fish, you couldn't have more than one of the same species as they would fight. Had this problem with juvenile french angels. Not sure if this is the case with the rusty angel or if they will nip at your corals. I actually have an app on my ipad on saltwater fish. If he's in there, I'll post up what info I find. Also, title is fixed. :)

Unless it goes by another name as well, the rusty angel fish is not listed on my aquarium handbook on the ipad. Sorry dude. :)

Krish & Dave try looking up Rusty Pygmy Angel (Centropyge ferrugatus its mainly from the Ryukyu Islands to Okinawa. Typical mid level dwarf Angel living at 35-100' and reaching an adult size of 3.5-4". Adults especially males get that same brilliant Blue/Black margin on the dorsal and anal fins as other Centropyge sp.

Cheers, Todd
