Well there is a lot of good stores around (competition) but not really in Everett so that might be a good area. Hmmm Smokey Point is also growing fast.

I like the idea.

I would definitely support a good shop in the area.

In Florida, we had 3 good shops within 5 miles. So I would think the area could support a shop.

The only issue I see here is that people seem to buy more items from other reefers here than in Florida.

Not to endorse anyone here but Reef Mystic in Lake Stevens... I haven't been there lately since I moved to the canal. Salt Water City in Bellevue... been around a long time. These two are your bookends that I am personally familiar with. Unfortunately your location won't help sel"fish" me. Good luck... competition is always good for the customer but retail is tough. Now is kind of a down time economically (but slowly rising I think) to open a speciality retail brick 'n' mortar... especially based on a hobby that is based on personal discretionary spending.

i would go with marysville due to all the people on the island who dont want to drive all the way out to seattle for a decent shop

I'd love to have another store locally. It is true that there are a few shops in the area, but I still find myself driving almost to Renton to Barrier Reef most of the time because they have better stock, prices and people. I mean no offense to the other shops, but it is just my experience.

Yea i found a great spot in marysville just making sure customers would drive far like i have many times from marysville to barrier reef and even i have done the poulsbo trip a few times.. to me it doesnt matter where the shops are since i have purchased from all of them. and there all great stores..

I would sure visit your store! As stated before, the north is under represented for sure.
There seem to be quite a few reefers on the island, and Bellingham has only one store with any salt stuff. Good dry goods, but not so much livestock. No great coral ever.

Well that would be great if you open a shop up in Marysville! So that way I have something to do when I bring my daughter to see her grandparents. Lots of tourist go there because of the casino and the premium outlet stores there. Last I was up there a few weeks ago I saw a fish store. I was like yes!!!! I didn't get a chance to go though. Next time

yea we been looking high and low for a good spot with enough space to build tanks as well. i own a granite and marble company along with cabinets and high end residential remodel. so i know quality ppl are expecting.

my vote on mill creek, theres some storefronts still open in the Mill Creek town center....

Seems like 5-10yrs ago there were salt shops all over, now its dwindled down to just a handful. The only 3 stores that are within reasonable distance from MC and bothell are Red sea, Denny's, and Reef Mystique and even then mystique is quite the distance. We've def. got the reefers around up here but unless you can draw us in the BRA and RS its gonna be hard though you sound confident. I know I'll visit a store atleast once!

I like the Marysville idea, Lynnwood and Mill creak can still be a far drive for the people up north. The smoky point area is growing so much I am sure their will be good business. I know I will still shop at the other stores but it would be great to have one even closer! I hope you do it!

Most of the reefers in the area have to drive a great distance to get to a good high quality salt store.

My vote... Marysville. There is Petco there, but who buys salt water fish from Petco?
