Does anyone have any experience with Dr Tim's biopellets used with their bacterial cultures? If I may ask, are they the Two Little Fishies ones. I know you had 2 different kinds last time I was there.

Hi Mike - Chinese biopellets....Hmmmm? Just thinking about toxic sheet-rock, vitamins, dog treats from China. Then logically wondering is that a wise sourcing of material used to help keep a sometimes delicate ecosystem going? My understanding is that the source material for the Dr. Tim's pellets was purpose designed for use as biopellets in a salt water aquarium environment, rather than using a food grade (biodegradable) material as biopellets (possible traces of stuff you don't want in the aquarium, more variable bio-degradation = variable performance). Anybody have any experience this way? :noidea:Lost creek the Dr Tims are pretty much the same as the Thrive or Vertex or similar and work well. Thier are only two types now that operate a little differently. One is Warner Marines who put a little bit of ceramic in their for more interior surface area and then the new Chinese ones that two little fishes went with and I believe BRS sells them also, I have no info on them as they are fairly new on the market.
Mike
