Nice work Steve. Do you cut the round blank plates yourself? Or do you get them pre-cut? Your acrylic cement work looks Great!
Scott

thanks, I cut them myself. I built templates then use them on my router table.

What was the reasoning on not using a baffle under the "intake" of the becketts? And will you be using a gatevalve?

I forgot where I got them, but thumb screws are a little more convientient - same material as what you are using- nylon.

Just want to say nice, very nice, where did you get the becket, or did you make that also? Can you take a pick closer of the interns of it, I'd like to see more of it & how it works.

Thanks, I bought a couple beckets off a guy a while ago. do you want a pic of the inside of the becket ot the holder?

We just ran across this monster skimmer you're making. We think you could probably skim BOTH the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans with that thing.

Are you really making this for a one gallon nano reef?

Belly Up and his bewildered mom

Yea, I wanted to see the actual Becket, I've read up one them, they are supposed to be the best. I was just looking for more information on their design & what makes them work so well with large volume pumps. Then yes, I'd like to see how you actually have them mounted. BTW, that is some really nice cuts, are you using special blades?

all they are is a venturie that uses a center diverter instead of a nozzel. I will try get a pic for you.

they are mounted all by friction fit in my holder, the bottom is just the right size for the hole and the top of the becket is just the right size to slide into a end of the threaded to slip 1" PVC adapter.

as for the cuts, ya I bought a specific acrylic blade for my table saw.

the main tank is a Gal with a 33 gal sump and a 25 gal remote tank hoked in.

I am going to be going larger so thats why I am building the larger capacity stuff.

Hi, this is Jordan's Mom.

Our thoughts on a one gallon came from that post. I guess it was a typo!

I told him I didn't think it was really a one gallon tank!

Thanks for the info!

The Baffle is inside the "box". Some are just a piece of acrylic at a 30 to 45' angle and stops about 2" from the top of the inside of the box. This angles the flow of bubbles upward and the water just cascades over it and down into the bottom of the box.
Some other designs just use a piece of round acrylic tube cut short about 1/2", this stirs up the foam from the nozzle even more, or that's the idea.

If you notice some guy's just have a flared piece of pvc angled upward toward the tube.

actualy both beckets are going to inject about 2" into the main tube at an angle, and I am installing a bubble trap in the box.
