NEW TANG IN QT white spot??

She has been in qt for a week. The white spot just showed up. No net was use to put her in the qt tank.

Just QT stress, often seen with recently moved fish. Nothing to worry about except it dying a slow excrutiating death. :>)

Naw, they temp. lose color when not happy. Give it as much solitude as possible: ensure it has hiding places, no sudden movements, no tank changes, it will color up and be the luckiest tang in the neighborhood.

Responding to the original post. The light marks are more than likely physical damage. The Sailfin's tail however looks like it has spots on it. High probability there of being Marine Ich with a secondary bacterial infection on the go. If this fish has that parasite, they all do.

i said that it was sand i watched it swim down near the bottom stirring it up when i turned the lights on to take a picture

I will make sure to have everyone move slower by the tank and not make sudden movements by the tank...
I pray she ok..
She was a spacial order fish by my wife as a "center peice" fish for the big tank...

flashing is a sudden movement toward a rock or the sand. generally they're rubbing something irritating their gills. it's a pretty unambiguous movement once you see it. Go to your LFS and watch the tangs for a while. You'll likely see one flash. Good luck with your fish.

I watch her try to fight the tang in the glass (her reflection) LOL

She is VERY pretty! She'll look gorgeous in the big tank! I'll bet that with time and letting her calm down a bit she'll get the color back(and stop worrying you guys)!

She is now in the big tank. We moved her over a week earyl.

just some posturing she's still marked up from rubbing on the other tank and trying to catch her in the 29....

Do you know the scientific name for this tang Adam?
I have never seen one,,,looks good.
