i went and got a new tank today...i have been reduced to a 20g long since i got back here in FL, so i went out today and got a 40g breeder.(i don't have time for my big tanks anymore).the stand was about $280, so i just built one..it took me about 2 hours to build it and stain it..i will be setting it up tomorrow if the stain is completely dried..i think i am going to rebuild my old closed loop and put it on there..i will be using a Mag12 to run it..i'm only running one of my halides over the 20g right now..i am trying to decide if i should run 2 of them over the 40g...

i like it as well..it is going to be more of a frag tank than anything..when i set it up, i think i am going to release most of the fish that i caught..i may keep 2 of them, but i want this water to be really clean!!!...

I would suggest about 10 tangs. Good to see tou did not pull a Krish.:D

UPDATE!!!! i recently put a closed loop with a Mag12 on my 40g....it literally barely made ripples..i still had to use 4- Maxi-jet 1200's in addition to the Mag12...i still have dead spots in the tank..with all those poweheads and the Mag pump, i have been having trouble keeping the temp under 85 degrees..it has actually gotten up to 86 degrees on a few days..i have two fans on it, and it still won't stay cool...i figured i needed to get rid of all those extra pumps producing heat!!..Today i pulled out my Reeflo Dart!!!! this baby will put out some serious water flow..i will have to cut it back some... i built a Calfo Manifold today and it should be ready to hook up in the morning!!! i plan to upgrade tanks here soon, but for now, this is my main tank....i will get some pics in the morning when i get it running

so i read from the top to the bottom and u say i havet got time for a bigger tank and then by the bottom your thinking about your next upgrade lol i love it man
get rid of those pump and get a korila of nano stream

do u know that site i can put tank dimensions in to find out how many gallons or liters
lets see sum pics ron ive got some to show u in a couple of days

ok, well i couldn't wait to hook it up...i just finished after having to make 2 more trips back to Lowes!!!!!....i have it wide open and it is exactly how much flow i was wanting...i can't figure how i had this pump pushing all of my flow in my 125g, and now it is just barely enough for my 40g.....the pump is only like 2ft below the tank and i don't have any weird twists and turns in the plumbing..i will get some pics in the morning!!!! Also, Morgan, don't ever believe me or Krish when we say we are going to stay with a small tank!!!!:D

I'm running a mag 9.5 return and 2xtunze 6100's with mag7 remora on my 40 breeder and it does great flow. lots of room lost but ohh well.

i had to get all those powerheads out of the tank!!.....i have alot more room now, and i am not having temp problems anymore....i really wanted the Mag12 to be gone..they are too noisy for me....i can 't hear any sound at all coming from my room now...the Reeflo is pretty much silent!!!!

Didn't take long to get it going huh?
yeah, i worked on it for most of the day... i made 3 or 4 trips to Lowes...i was ready to get it going and get it over with!!!! it is working pretty well right now

Thanks!! yeah, i'm turning into you with the flow!!!!! i have it making tornado's in the tank...it is swirling everywhere!!!!

There are some good advance articles on how important flow is, comparing to lighting probably more so.

When you have to remove the sand because of flow then you're good
after i did the 125g barebottom, i haven't put sand in any of my tanks!!! i have put tons of flow in my tanks, even the ones i have/had that didn't have any sps!!!
