new to me skimmer

So I got a new tank and skimmer. A reef octopus skimmer. After 2-3 days after swapping everything to the new tank the skimmer was pulling nasty stuff. Now its not pulling anything. What gives? There are plenty of micro-bubbles. I checked the salinity, its fine. .023. So what is going on?

Not enough bio load in the tank??
I'm actually having the same problem with my SWC 250 W mesh wheels..
The foam tower collapses and I get no skimmate, And I'm very overstocked.

is my skimmer too big? has it skimmed all the "protein"? its on a 75g. had a bak pak on the 50g it would pull. but it was like green tea.

i scincerely doubt your octo is too big...which model??
