Got my back pack skimmer today, need to clear out 1 freshwater tank , to shift my tanganykian shellies to that tank, which will free up the 50 breeder for my first reef.

Would it make sense to use an aquaclear HOB filter, full of cheato, as a refugium, and the back pack skimmer?

It all depends on what you drank the night before. I suggest morning pee for the strong concentration :badgrin:

That is cool about the pee, I would have never thought of using it, If its the ammonia that dose it then that is a good to know.

started an RO filter last night , had to make some adjustments this morning , should have my first batch of RO ready for salt tonight.
