Just moved to Seattle in May from IA and getting back into the hobby with an 18" mixed reef cube. Glad to see there's an active forum with a bunch of PNW reefers!

Everyone is mentioning it, but not directing you to the info. Its the Puget Sound Aquarium Society (PSAS) Sept meeting/frag & equipment swap/sale.

They have a forum under the club forums. Here is a link to the specific thread.

Would be good to see you there even if your not ready for livestock. There should be some equipment for sale and better yet a lot of people to meet and visit with.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I would love to swing by the frag swap on Sat - I have tentative plans to hike but if those fall through I'll definitely make an appearance! Does it usually have pretty good turnout? My tank is cycled and open for livestock

Hiking? Really? Outdoors on a beautiful day. Fresh air. Exercise....no, I think the frag swap takes priority. You wont find coral anywhere at the prices you will see them for at the frag swap/sale.

I couldn't be happier with the Seattle area. Always something to do and I got to take advantage of the 18" of powder up at Stevens last weekend which was a great way to start the season off! Here's the most recent FTS and some closeups - it's coming along!

Thanks a lot! It's a work in progress but as it continues to grow out it will look better and better. I'm still rocking the miscellaneous frags look, can't wait for some real growth. Right now I'm battling cyano but unsure of where the nutrients are coming from... i suspect my filter sock regimen is to blame. Also added a gorgeous small flame angel the other week from the diver's den but unfortunately he's started to do what they're so prone to do and pick at my angel eyes favia. Can't have that. I'll try moving the coral but I suspect he'll be for sale soon
