around there really
wow had an outstanding day today

Went to my LfS today and got some good deals but I don't know how good

I got a 27 in tall Berlin XL skimmer rated at 150 gallons to 400 with a red sea skimmer pump ( not sure what its rated at ) its pretty big though and is the pump that the skimmer came with. In not sure how I'm gonna hook the skimmer up to my sump It being so tall and all I'm probably gonna hace to sit it in the bac like I was with the tall super skimmer corallife. I wanna hoist the pump up in the air some how like cause I want as less room from the pump to the skimmer as possible I want my moneys worth. I payed 150 for the skimmer and pump

I also got 2 seio pheads and I like them so far they say they are rated at 1500 gph I put them on my 125 gallon. I payed 40 dollars a piece for them they looked barely used also

So now on my 125 gl I'll have a Berlin XL skimmer rated for a 150 gl + tank backed up by a 65 gl super coral life skimmer and a mag 7 return on one side of the tank and a mag 5 on the other side + the 2 1500 gph seio pheads

So is it safe to at least say that the water in my 125 gl will be turning over about 32 times an hour

On my 75 gallon I got a quiet one 1017 GPH return pump and a 125 gallon super skimmer coral life brand and a skimmer rated for a 75 gallon tank. I have two 802 aquaclears that I have yet to find out what are rated at but I know there at least 300 gph to 350. So I believe the water in my 75 gallon is turning over at least 21 to 22 times an hour.

Is 22 times an hour good for a lps, SPs, and anemone tank in a 75 gl.

Any suggetions are appreciated thanks guys

what about lighting.....

more importent... lighting and flow..

skimmers and turn over no so much.
water conditions and flow... yes

LOL I for got about that lol

As far as the lighting on my 75 gallon I got a two 250 watt se metal halide 12 k bulbs ran by 2 250 watt ice cap electronic ballast

I also have 2 super actinic vho bulbs for the dusk to dawn look

I have to smart fans on each side of my tank also that keep my water cool

For night time I got those led night lights that attach to the bottom ogbthe mogul sockets and boy do they light up the tank for night time display

I think thats about it for the 75 gl. Other than the big 45 gallon sump and deep sand band and the refuge in that tank and the big live rock in take chamber full of live rock

As far as my 125 gallon ive got 1 single ended metal halide mogul in the middle and two 65 watt square pinned actinc pc bulbs on each end the mogul in the middle is a 10k soon to be a 12k its powered by a magnetic ballast 250 watt ballast soon to be an electronic ice cap ballast

Ive decided to do a tomato clown and anemone in my 125 gallon so the halide won't be wasted

Oh yeah not to forget the two connected 29 gl sumps on the bottom of the 125 gallon to keep the water level from the two returns I have running

Ive got a deep sand bed in one of the 29 gallon tanks along with the refuge and macro algaes and things the other sump is for my huge Berlin skimmer and other equip like my uv sterilizer and heaters I do run my little 65 super skimmer on the refuge tank in the refuge chamber and I may also add a heater on this sump also but thats all that will be on the refuge side

I think that about covers everything

My tanks don't have salt in them yet either so thats why I'm not posting pics yet

How ever I did get fish for my 55 gallon fresh water tank yesterday (convicts) because they are breeders that actually done eat the babies but take the babies in there mouth and clean them off and spit them back out its so cool to see

I have a 40 gallon long tank to put the babies in after there to big to stay with the parents or sell the babies to my lfs for money or for trade for things I need got my saltwater tanks

I have a 75 gallon bio- wheel and a undergravel filter with 2 maxijet 1200s to pull up any do-do for the bio wheel

On the 40 gallon I have just a 75 gallon biowheel thats plenty

I have a 29 gl qt tank with a eclipse hood filter and a small power head on the inside

The qt tank is for my saltwater tank I don't really plan on adding to much to my 55 gallon tank besides convicts I may get a couple bull sharks or a oscar or some thing I'm not sure yet

Thanks guys any suggestions are appreciated

no need for a new topic for used equipment LOL

This afternoon I was lucky enough to run across a vho set up I got 2 already wired vho 6 foot bulbs, ballasts, and end caps ready to plug and play for 100 bucks

It also over drives the 160 watt bulbs to about 220 watts a piece

They look really good I got super actinic

just remember nothing good happens fast here.... your doing fine..

cycle that qt. get that new tank rdy to rock... and take it slow.

thanks and dont worry the salt aint even in none of my big tanks yet

Thats as slow as ive ever taken it trust me

Only reason why I'm taking it this slow is to see if my house can with stand the electricity use I'm gonna need!!

Thanks and yeah slow and easy is the way

maybe 2 new ores..no a lot of dimensions..if yes.. a new one and it should be too much different like the difference between the nether and the overworld
