I am coral sitting a ginormous pagoda cup coral that belongs to Bc_slc (Matt). Check out the pic... I'm going to cry once he gets up his 140gal tank. I realized that this guy chows down on some direct feeding of brine shrimp. Any other types of food that I should give him while I'm taking care of it?

Oh and in the left corner is a sweet purple and dark green zoo colony I got from Coral Beauty. I also got the pompom xenia at the bottom there as well.

Nice coral. Basically it will eat anything that can fit into a polyp. You could try hunks of shrimp, clam, squid etc. I have even had success feeding them sinking fish food pellets. They dont really float away and its east to place one in every polyp. Good luck, thats an awesome coral.

I would just add. Dont let the extra food sit in the cup. Make sure there is enough flow to get rid of the extra or use a turkey baster.

hey john - I was asking....i normally can see jpegs, and that is one of the formats it has to be in to upload. I'm not very savvy on my computer, so I was curious. Don't change it if others can see it, I just am not sure why I can't.

You said it's easy to put a food pellet in every polyp. Okay, being willing to try just about anything once, I ran right out to feed mine. I think mine has maybe 40 polyps, and I probably fed about half of them. Now, what I'd like to know is where do you get enough time to feed your cup coral?

By-the-way, very nice coral! I'd say I hope mine grows up like that some day, but right now it lives in a 30-hex. If it doubled in size I'd have to move it. lol.

Feeding all of the polyps on this guy must take about a year... You should ask jazznreef how he got this coral so large. Did he buy it or grow it from a frag?

This sucker is heavy too. I moved it a little bit last night and thought it was stuck. Just ended up being that I didnt think it was as heavy as it is...
