November 2012 Club Meeting: A Q&A session with the President of Brightwell Aquatics

I was just contacted by Brightwell Aquatics. They would like the chance to meet with hobbyists in the region to talk about their innovative products.

We generally try to hold our meetings on the third Saturday of the month. This is a special event and a great opportunity to meet face-to-face with some of the leaders in the industry. So, we are shifting this month's meeting. We will be meeting Tuesday, November 27th at a Oceans by Design! That's right, a chance to get a sneak peak at their store before the doors officially open.​

"Also please let them know that after the Q&A session I will be taking down names of people who would like to try our products and I will send out a care package once we figure out what everyone wants. Please explain that these will be free sample products and they are limited to a couple each within reason."

I'll look into it. I know it's a crazy night to have it, but they have a tight schedule. I'll defiantly see what I have to work with to video the event. I'll need everyone's permission to do so (Oceans by Design, Brightwell, and I'll have to contact my agent at the Screen Actors Guild ) I see two issues with recording the event, one is just the quality of equipment I have to work with, my phone, and two is the fact that this is just a Q&A session. I'll play it by ear. As long as I have permission, I'll just record what I can with what I have and make it available. I might be able to find a better camera by then.

Thanks everyone for making it out on a Tuesday night. It was good to see you all. We recorded some of the meeting before the battery ran out. I'm not sure if we were able to capture the audio very well. Becca is going to look at the tape and upload it if it's worth watching. Thank you to Oceans by Design for taking the time in a VERY busy period to host the event and Brightwell for stopping by.

It was really interesting to hear the back-story of Brightwell and their approach to the hobby.

Was a neat meeting. Cool to see that the president/owner has degrees in mathematics and chemistry and all formulas are personally created.

Thank you again to Oceans by Design for hosting this event and for getting this video posted up for us. I failed a little in recording the meeting because I didn't have the power hooked up. We ran out of batteries and I didn't hook up external power. I didn't think there was a chance we'd capture quality audio from across the room in the large space OBD has to work with. I was wrong! Their camera must be reverse engineered from the Roswell crash because it was picking up Chris when I was even having trouble hearing him. ​

We also have a box of goodies coming from Brightwell. Some of you put in requests for trials of their products. We'll be giving those out at the January meeting.

Brightwell's box arrived today! We're going to hand these out at the January meeting at Red C Aquarium in North Seattle. A few people put in requests for certain items. They will get first pick from what we received. Thanks Brightwell for the donation!
