He likes to eat nonveggies.....I think this is not good for him. He is really into the silverside and I know he needs more seaweed. My Chromis need the mysis so what to do?

Help? Please.

It is sometimes hard to get a fish eating the right foods. You should worry. Those that (mistakingly) think/believe everything is okay because my Tang "Eats anything" are delusional. Would they say the same for a rabbit that eats cats?

What the Tang is facing is unfamiliar foods in unfamiliar places. Ideally the fish is trained in the QT process. That gets them going on the right foods, without any other fish showing them the 'wrong foods.' :D

I would try some different presentations. I guess I never put up my post on presentation. I'll do that and give you the reference here:
Food Presentation

What the above will ultimately recommend is moving the algae around. Attach some to a rock where the fish would normally graze it. Attach some to near where it sleeps (you'll have to discover this if you don't already know). You can also start to mix it in with the meaty foods. It won't hurt the Chromis (but will surprise them probably). Maybe try some flake made for herbivores just to get the fish to taste the greens.

Of course you could catch the fish and put it into isolation until it learns what to eat. That's a bit extreme, however, and stressful. I don't recommend this. However, you can be pretty much be assured as the Tang grows, if it doesn't start to eat mostly (over 60% of its diet) as greens, its captive life will be considerably shortened.

Beggars are not choosers. He will eventually eat what you feed him. The chromis will survive. Target feed the chromis as needed while your tang discovers what an algae clip is for. Doesn't take very long...

Try clipping some nori and don't feed anything else for a day. My bet is that your tang will find that it's not so bad when he gets hungry.
