odyssey ballast

my odyssey ballast (crap) went out. its a 250w. can i replace it with any 250w ballast? or do i need to find another odyssey ballast?(crap)

I replaced mine with a Lumatek ballast.

I used a computer power cord for the power from the ballast to the light. It is night and day the increase in light.

I am using an icecap ballast right now (in place of my oddyssea) no problems at all. If you are looking for another odyssea ballast I may sell mine, it is modded so it is more effective getting the most light out of your bulb where oddysea's are known to burn bulbs at less than full wattage.

+1 on Lumatek. I replaced the Odyssea ballasts that came with my fixture and like the other guys said, night and day difference.

I'm curious because I just picked up a dual 250w hqi Odyssea fixture.

i got it off ebay. and its just over ayear old. it has worked flawless untill theis past weekend.

I have the light your talking about. Had to change the bulbs right away, yellow to green color, was supposed to be 20K.
