Gee Don I thought thier was a ton of great info on this thread to help Mountian understand what was causing his problems. Also in disspelling some common myths.
Mountian thier is nothing to be sorry about my friend, you did well in raising the question. Good factual dialog helps everyone that reads the thread now and in the future. So its all good.

I was not trying to win anything. Don, I didn't see the post as a different way to run a reef. I saw it as a copy and paste of bad info and didn't want others to think it was true.
It's not an excuse for my behavior though.

Ahh Don I look at things differently and dont spend a lot of time on delivery, I ust kinda spew out the info, if the info is good it stands on it own if not its open for correction.
On the different ways of running a reef tank. I just want to play on this one and I am not directing this to anyone, just making a point.
Biology wise thier is only one way to run a tank. We as reef keepers try to skew biology to run things simmular to they way things happen in the wild. With every thing we do to skew biology thier will be an opposite force or con to what we do, but the biology never changes. From the choices of filtration to lighting and so on we are skewing the biology, we will get a result from what ever we do. What we do as reef keepers is to set up a series of checks and balances in order to try to manipulate natural biology. You can not set up any checks with out the said balances, if you do your going to get in trouble. In this thread that is what was happening. Thier was a large ammount of balances being set forward with out any checks to balance out the chemistry and bology of the reef tank. this is where we need to be very careful or the whole house of cards can come down.
