So I'm rebuilding my sump. Been looking forward to doing this since I put the thing together in the first place!

Funny u mention that, I was picking up my phone to get pics of the hot mess I'm dealing with when I saw you replied

here it is..I underestimated the force of the water flowing through, so all my dividing panels broke loose. Even if they had held. They're thin enough glass that I don't have a lot of faith they'd stay together. Cut a bunch of lexan panels this morning,just gotta get around to draining and drying the beast

Once I have everything rebuilt, it's time to look for a cabinet for it. The tank is a bowfront, and the 55 gal sump wouldn't fit underneath

Now it's starting to look like a real sump, I realize this may be old hat to most people here, but it's uncharted territory for me

Thanx! They're definitely some of my favorites too...if I did a dream tank build, it would be most likely a discus tank...which is certainly cheaper!

nice...it's been awhile since i've played with Discus!

i just lost 6 of them to a particularly nasty parasite. that was a long slow battle they eventually lost. fortunately, this pair was in a separate tank and werent affected. looking for another direction to go with the mostly vacant 90 gal the other guys were in.

tanx re: the sump. i replaced my old 3/32 glass and brittle adhesive with 1/4 in lexan and plenty of silicon sealant . lookin forward to getting water flowing thru it
