Had you changed any water movement in your tank, about the time (within a week or so) he started moving around on you? Was there something above him, that had started growing, and blocking out his light? Did he have good sand to burry his foot in, or had that gotten moved so it was a thinner depth?

Just trying to come up with possible ideas on why he started moving on you, so you can help him find the place he feels comfortable once again in.

Im glad he is doing better. I salted my zoas a few months back while cleaning the built up salt creep... That scared me enough to stop messing with the main and do all the water changes and adding of salt or fresh water to the remote 40 gal sump in the next room...

your dicomorphs might have to much light more isnt always better and discs seem to like medium light maybe if u put then in a shady spot they might preffer that
best of luck with the anenome i lost one the other month to a seios that was a kick in the teeth
i said id give up reefing if my sail fin tang ever died and he did but that just made me want to keep reefing even more
i loved that tang damn it
btw those anenomes are like $450 here only ever seen 2 and there nice but the fluro pink magnifica i saw for 250 looked to be a better buy althought that thing was over 2 foot when open

Yeah, I had a fish that I loved to death... then I caused its death... It sucks. Sorry to hear about your tang and your anemone. A 2 foot fluro pink magnifica sounds good though!

Nothing is growing on top of him. At some point I changed the light from an OLD 400 watt 14k bulb/fixture to a new 250 watt 10k bulb, and I don't remember if it was before or after he started moving. I also added another power head, but I think it was after he started moving... My life has been so crazy that I can't remember when I did anything...

And the little jerk refuses to bury his foot in the sand... even if he is at the very bottom of the tank, his foot is on the live rock above the sand. Once I was able to gently get him off the rock, then I bared a spot on the tank's bottom to see if he'll attach, but he crawled right over the bare spot, and right over the sand, and onto the live rock. Acts like a S. Mertensii, looks like a S. Haddoni. Go figure.

Well, thank Goodness, looks like this fellow has recovered. What should I do to him next? I think I'll throw him into some hot olive oil for a few seconds... OK, seriously, I want to get this guy in top shape and then split'im in half

If it hadn't been for my salt incident, he would've been ready by now. Oh well, I can wait
