So, I placed an extra rose anemome in my sump, only for half of him to somehow pass my baffle wall with small holes in it, and thence got slurped/grinded up by my Baracuda return pump which then peppered the DT with 5-6 little pcs. Perhaps the anenome had actually split again, as I can't understand how only half of him would pass. leaving the remainding stub of an anenome. I cleaned up the pcs in DT. I am left with a remnant of anenome, which I am an trying to assess.

Does not look good ... has anybody recovered a damaged anenomie back to life? Noticed odor in sump room tonight when I got home (sign of death). Also noticed a mild haze in the DT.

Thanks in advance!

It is possible for an anemone to heal itself after a fight with a pump or powerhead. What part of the anemone was damaged? Was the foot or the mouth damaged or just some tentacles?

Here is my GBT when it got tangled up with the power head.

I've had an anenome or two get tangled into powerheads and CL intakes.

This one pulled itself out and survived.

My RBTA that was sucked into a K-4 was very mangled and clouded my whole system. I immediately removed it from the tank, did as big of a WC as possible and ran ALOT of new carbon

Since you mention "Smell" and "Cloudy Water" I don't think i'd risk the rest of the tank. Large water changes, carbon, and get the rest of it out. Sorry about that.

The worry isn't the injured nem, it is the other coral and fish that got peppered with stingers and toxified water. Treat it as major toxic polution.

i had a longtentical find a power head. about half of the tentical cap was stuck in the guard. i almost had to break the guard to get it out. but i moved it farther way and i have a fully recovered anen. but now the tenticals have gone retarted and i have quite a few that a few tentical heads on one stock.

It happens alot more frequently that one would expect. I've had it happen myself a few times.

Water changes are important. Running carbon is important. Keep an eye on your skimmer as it will go nuts, likely over flowing if left unattended.

DO NOT PULL THE ANEMONE OUT OF THE PUMP/POWERHEAD!!!!!!
This will cause more damage.
Turn off the pump/powerhead, and allow the anemone to work itself out. It will take some time, but will do so. The anemone has a better chance of surviving this way. If the anemone was in good health before being mauled, it will usually survive the incident. If the anemone was not in good health, the chances are much smaller of it surviving.

With mine the foot and mouth were fine, only the tentacles got damaged. This is what it looked like the morning after it got in a fight with an MP10
